Mulled White Wine
It snowed, we went running and then warmed up with mulled white wine. Beautiful day!
Ingredients
4 cups white wine (1 l)
4 tablespoons sugar
8 cloves
6 green cardamom pods
1 star anise
1 cinnamon stick (5 cm)
4 slices ginger
50 ml pear brandy (I used Kruskovac, bought from Istria)

How to prepare mulled white wine
- Put all ingredients in a saucepan and bring the wine to a boil. As soon as it starts to boil, cover and let it simmer for 1 minute.
* the amount of sugar is approximate, this is for dry white wine; if using another type of wine adjust the sugar accordingly
** if you don't have pear brandy you can add a few pear slices - Turn off the heat and let the wine steep covered for 10 minutes.
- Reheat before serving. Strain into cups.
