They're really delicious, quick to make, and perfect when you have friends over - great with a beer 😉.
Ingredients
1 small baguette-style bread or Ciabatta...
200g shredded cheese (I used Moeciu, but mozzarella or cheddar also work)
1 bunch green onion
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons yogurt or sour cream
2 garlic cloves
pepper
How to prepare quick hot open-faced sandwiches with cheese and green onion
- Shredded cheese is mixed with green onion sliced into rounds, with yogurt and mayonnaise until combined. Add the crushed garlic and season with pepper. Add salt too if the cheese isn't salty.
- Cut the bread in half lengthwise. Spread the topping on one half. (the topping ingredients are enough for half a baguette)
- Apply the topping in a generous layer.
- Turn on the oven to grill/broil and place the bread underneath for 5 minutes, until the cheese is golden.
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes, then cut into slices about 2 fingers thick across the width of the bread and arrange on a platter or wooden board.
