I want to specify from the start that this is my quick version, inspired by the famous Tiramisu recipe. I know that tiramisu cream is mascarpone-based, but I like this version better and that's why I make it more often than the original. It's also my guests' favorite, especially my brother's.
Ingredients
1 packet vanilla pudding mix
300ml milk
80ml whipping cream
1 cup cold espresso coffee
ladyfingers
1 tablespoon cocoa
Servings: 2-3 glasses
How to prepare quick tiramisu
- Mix the cold milk with the vanilla pudding mix until it becomes thick, following the package instructions (I used less milk than the package calls for). Then whip the cream. Mix the vanilla cream with the whipped cream.
- In glasses arrange: a layer of cream, then ladyfingers quickly dipped on both sides in coffee, then cream, then ladyfingers, and the last layer of cream.
* Break the ladyfingers into 2-3 pieces to fit in the glass
** Dip the ladyfingers quickly through coffee on both sides, don't let them absorb too much as they will become too soft.
*** You can also add 1 tablespoon of cognac or rum to the coffee - Sprinkle plenty of cocoa on top using a fine mesh strainer, like a tea strainer.
- Refrigerate for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
