Steam Grill Pan
It's a combination of a steam pot and a grill. What I like about it is that everything I grill on it comes out very crispy, I don't need to add any fat, on the contrary the fat from the meat drains into the water channel. And plus there's no smell in the house and no smoke like when using a regular grill.
The pan consists of:
- the channel under the grill where you put water; the steam helps the food cook faster, including the top, and the fat drains into it so it doesn't burn; in the center there's a hole under which the stove flame goes
- the grill on which you place the food
- the lid that covers everything so the food gets crispy on top, but also keeps the steam inside as much as possible;
I use it especially for grilling chicken drumsticks and wings, but especially mici (Romanian grilled minced meat rolls) which come out really really well. I also prepare potato wedges on it. It's not recommended to grill chicken breast on it, it comes out too dry. I've baked apples, quinces and peppers using this pan.
The pan is available at almost all supermarkets in Romania, it's not expensive and has another quality: it cleans very easily. 😊
