Recipe: Cococcino (Coconut Cappuccino)

I don't know how original I am with this name, but it came to mind a week ago when I saw how the natives of Polynesia drink their coffee with coconut milk and I thought: what a great idea! How did I never think of this? I'm a huge coffee lover and I've tried vanilla coffee, hazelnut coffee but... coconut? I had to try it!

Ingredients

2 strong espresso shots
200 ml coconut milk
sugar (optional)

How to prepare cococcino (coconut cappuccino)

  1. Pour hot espresso into cups, filling them 2/3 full. Sweeten the coffee to taste - I personally drink it unsweetened.
  2. Heat the coconut milk (the microwave is easiest), then froth it (I used a special milk frother jug, but you can also use the steam wand of an espresso machine or a small electric cappuccino mixer).
  3. Slowly pour the foam over the coffee until the cup is full, then sprinkle cinnamon on top using a small tea strainer.
