Recipe: Liver Drob with Rice

Very quick drob after a recipe my mother has been making since before I was born 😊 It's very good with fresh salad.

Ingredients

400g store-bought liver pâté (any kind; I used goose)
6 heaping tablespoons cooked rice
3 green onion stalks
3 dill sprigs
1/4 bunch parsley
2 hard-boiled eggs
2 raw eggs
1 tablespoon breadcrumbs
salt, pepper

a little oil for greasing the pan
1 egg
1 tablespoon sour cream

How to prepare liver drob with rice

  1. Mix the pâté with the cooked rice, diced hard-boiled eggs and chopped herbs. Season this mixture with salt and pepper. Store-bought pâté is already quite seasoned, but you'll still need a little salt (about 1/2 teaspoon) and pepper to taste.
  2. Add the beaten raw eggs and breadcrumbs. Mix well.
  3. Pour the mixture into a loaf pan (25 x 10 cm) greased with oil. Level with the back of a spoon. Brush the top with egg beaten with sour cream.
  4. Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes.
  5. Let it cool then remove the drob from the pan by inverting it onto a platter. It's very good with mixed salad.
