Quick Floating Islands

I prepared here my version of floating islands, a bit different from the classic version, because instead of egg whites cooked in milk I used marshmallows prepared last week.
Ingredients
3 egg yolks
500ml milk
6 tablespoons sugar
1 heaping teaspoon flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
a pinch of turmeric (optional)
marshmallows (homemade or store-bought)

How to prepare quick floating islands
- In a pot, put the milk over medium heat together with the sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the milk is hot.
- In a bowl, beat the egg yolks with the flour and then pour a few tablespoons of hot milk over it, mixing well. Reduce heat to low. Pour this mixture into the pot with milk, slowly, stirring constantly. Leave on the heat until the mixture becomes creamy and continue to stir.
- Add the turmeric for a nicer color and remove from heat. When it cools down, add the vanilla extract.
- Divide the milk into 3-4 glasses and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve cold with plenty of marshmallows on top.
