A simple summer salad made from slices of mozzarella and tomatoes, drizzled with a delicious basil sauce.

mozzarella
6 fresh basil leaves
6 tablespoons olive oil
salt
pepper
How to prepare caprese salad
- Choose beautiful, ripe tomatoes. Cut them into rounds.
- Drain the mozzarella well and cut it into slices too.
- Arrange alternating slices of tomatoes with slices of mozzarella. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a mortar, crush the basil leaves with a little coarse salt until they become a paste. Add the olive oil.
- Drizzle the tomatoes and mozzarella with the basil sauce. Serve immediately.
