Dough
210 ml milk
50 g sugar
1/2 packet dry yeast
2 tablespoons melted butter
350 g flour
a pinch of salt
Filling
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Caramel
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon butter
150 g walnuts
How to prepare cinnamon walnut sticky buns
- Knead an elastic dough from the dough ingredients and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough and sprinkle the sugar mixed with cinnamon on top.
- Roll up the dough and with a sharp knife cut pieces about 2 fingers thick.
- In a heatproof dish, caramelize the sugar over low heat and when it turns golden, add the honey and then the butter. Remove from heat and sprinkle the coarsely chopped walnuts on top.
- Place the buns on the walnuts with the cut side up, about 1 finger apart to give them room to rise. Cover and let them rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
* If you have leftover buns (the ends of the dough), you can bake them in muffin tins greased with a little butter and then sprinkled with sugar. - Bake at 220°C for 30-35 minutes, until golden.
- Flip the contents of the pan onto a serving plate and serve warm or cold.
