Noodles with Toasted Breadcrumbs
Quick Recipes Simple Recipes Fasting Recipes Desserts Budget Recipes Pasta Romanian
Oh, what times! I haven't eaten noodles with breadcrumbs in over 25 years. And writing these lines I also remembered another dessert I liked in childhood: semolina with milk, sprinkled with cocoa or cinnamon. Yes... definitely childhood desserts, as simple as they are, stick to your soul.
Ingredients
300g wide noodles (without egg during fasting periods)
100g breadcrumbs
80g sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons oil (or butter)
Servings: 3-4
How to prepare noodles with toasted breadcrumbs
- Put the noodles to boil in water with a little salt. Cook according to package instructions.
- In a wide pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil and add the breadcrumbs. Toast on medium heat (at the beginning) while stirring constantly. After you see the breadcrumbs starting to lightly brown, turn the heat to low and continue toasting until golden (don't stop stirring).
- When the breadcrumbs are golden (it takes about 5 minutes), add the sugar and cinnamon and stir. Transfer the breadcrumbs to a plate.
- Drain the noodles and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil over them. Stir. Add the breadcrumbs with sugar and stir. Serve warm.
