Recipe: Quick Lemonade

The quickest lemonade! No more squeezing lemons. It's the ideal version when you want to prepare large quantities for a party. Here I've given the basic recipe, but you can add lime, orange, ginger, other fruits (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries) and you'll get a delicious and ultra-quick gourmet lemonade. Even plain, the lemonade is exceptionally aromatic because part of the flavor comes from the zest. It's not bitter because the lemons aren't pureed, so the bitter white pith isn't noticeable at all.

Since the whole lemon is used, ideally you should use organic lemons, but we don't always have access to them. In that case, let the lemon soak in hot water for at least 10 minutes, then wash it under warm running water and wipe it with a rough towel.

Ingredients

2-3 lemons
50-100 g powdered sugar
1 L water (cold or room temperature; you can use sparkling mineral water)

How to prepare quick lemonade

  1. Powdered sugar is used so it dissolves quickly. The amount of sugar depends on personal taste and what kind of lemons you use. This time I used Meyer lemons and only added 50 g sugar. For regular lemons, I use 80 g.
  2. Put the sugar in the blender. Add the lemons cut into quarters. Add the water.
  3. Blend briefly at maximum speed, just until the lemons are finely chopped, without letting them become a puree. Mine took 5 seconds, but it depends on your blender's power.
  4. Strain without pressing the pulp. Pour into glasses.
