Sangria
Ingredients
1 liter red wine (I used semi-dry)
3 tablespoons rum (or a few tablespoons of brandy)
3 tablespoons orange liqueur (Cointreau)
3 oranges
1 lemon
1 lime
2-4 tablespoons sugar (to taste)
1 cinnamon stick
other fruits (I used apricots, peaches, but you can use strawberries, raspberries, apples, grapes, pineapple, etc.)
Servings: 4
How to prepare sangria
- If the citrus fruits are not organic, put them in a pot of hot water for 10 minutes. Then scrub them with something rough under warm running water.
- Mix the wine with sugar, rum (or brandy), orange liqueur and the juice of 2 oranges. Add the rest of the fruits cut into slices and the cinnamon stick.
- Let the sangria chill for at least 4 hours in the refrigerator and serve cold. Consume the sangria by the next day, otherwise it becomes bitter from the citrus peels.
