Sichuan Salt and Pepper
The day has come... for me to post a salt and pepper recipe 😊 But don't underestimate its uses: it goes well with beef steaks, on fish, on chicken, and especially on fried or grilled shrimp. Just substitute the classic salt and black pepper combination with this flavored salt.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons Sichuan peppercorns
2 tablespoons coarse sea salt
How to prepare sichuan salt and pepper
- In a dry pan without any fat, toast the peppercorns until they start to release their aroma, about 2 minutes. Shake the pan occasionally so they toast evenly.
- Add the hot peppercorns and salt to a spice grinder and grind to your desired fineness.
- Store in a sealed jar.
