Spicy Roasted Chickpeas
Simple Recipes Fasting Recipes Snacks
I had some boiled chickpeas left over from the chickpea and roasted pepper sandwiches and I turned them into a crunchy snack. I really like store-bought roasted corn, and chickpeas prepared this way are very similar, just not quite as hard.
Ingredients
boiled chickpeas
coarse salt
pepper
sweet paprika
hot paprika or chili
turmeric
a little olive oil
How to prepare spicy roasted chickpeas
- Put the boiled chickpeas in a bowl. Drizzle with very little oil. Mix well so the beans are coated. Add salt, pepper, sweet paprika, chili and a little turmeric for color. Mix well with your hands. Taste and add more spices if desired.
- Bake in the oven, in a tray lined with baking paper, at 220°C for approximately 30 minutes (the time depends on the size of the beans). After 20 minutes, start checking if the beans have become crunchy. Shake the tray occasionally.
Season the chickpeas
Place in the oven to roast
