Braised Pork with Potatoes
Ingredients
1 onion
140 g pork (cut into thin strips)
2 carrots (cut into thin rounds)
3 medium-sized potatoes (quartered)
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sake (or white wine)
240 ml water or broth (for flavor, preferably fish or beef stock)
5 tablespoons cooked peas
How to prepare braised pork with potatoes
- Sauté the onion, pork, carrots, and potatoes in oil for 10 minutes.
- Separately, mix the ground ginger, salt, soy sauce, wine, and broth, then add over the sautéed meat and vegetables and cook until almost all the liquid is absorbed.
- Add pepper to taste.
- Add the peas, stir gently, and turn off the heat.
