Ingredients

1 onion
140 g pork (cut into thin strips)
2 carrots (cut into thin rounds)
3 medium-sized potatoes (quartered)
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sake (or white wine)
240 ml water or broth (for flavor, preferably fish or beef stock)
5 tablespoons cooked peas

How to prepare braised pork with potatoes

  1. Sauté the onion, pork, carrots, and potatoes in oil for 10 minutes.
  2. Separately, mix the ground ginger, salt, soy sauce, wine, and broth, then add over the sautéed meat and vegetables and cook until almost all the liquid is absorbed.
  3. Add pepper to taste.
  4. Add the peas, stir gently, and turn off the heat.
