Pork Veal Cheese American Grilling Recipes Meat Dishes
Cheeseburgers my way: well seasoned, flavorful, and juicy. And the surprise: the cheese is inside!
Ingredients
500g ground meat (beef, pork, or mixed)
100g cheese
1 onion
1 small green bell pepper
2 level teaspoons adobo
2 teaspoons sweet paprika
1 heaping teaspoon dried oregano
1 level teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 bunch parsley
4 mint leaves
1 tablespoon pepper paste
1 tablespoon passata
1 tablespoon oil
Yield: 5 burgers
How to prepare cheeseburger
- Saute the finely chopped onion and bell pepper in hot oil until softened. Add to the meat.
- Then add all the seasonings, plus the finely chopped herbs, tomato and pepper paste. Knead the meat mixture well with your hands until it has a uniform color.
- Divide the mixture into 5 equal portions.
- From each portion, assemble a cheeseburger as follows:
- divide the portion into 2 equal parts and shape them into balls
- place them on a sheet of plastic wrap, spaced apart from each other
- place another sheet of plastic wrap on top and flatten the balls with the bottom of a plate; you'll get two thinner meat discs
- remove the plastic from the discs
- in the center of one disc, place cheese slices and press them slightly into the meat
- place the second meat disc on top
- put the plastic wrap on top again and press lightly so the two discs stick together
- press the edges of the cheeseburger to prevent the cheese from leaking out when it melts
* the prepared cheeseburgers can be kept in the refrigerator until you're ready to cook them - Heat the grill well, then turn the heat to low. Grill the cheeseburgers for 3-4 minutes on each side.
* if using a grill pan, drain the fat after each batch of cheeseburgers - Serve while hot, between two slices of bread (can be lightly toasted on the griddle) or a burger bun, with tzatziki sauce.
