Recipe: Transylvanian Creamed Spinach

It took me 27 years to eat spinach and now I can't stop. I usually prepare it according to this recipe because it's the best, though not necessarily the healthiest.

Ingredients

500 g spinach
50 g butter (or oil)
1 heaping tablespoon all-purpose flour
300 ml milk
2-3 garlic cloves
2-3 tablespoons sour cream
salt

How to prepare transylvanian creamed spinach

  1. Add the spinach to boiling water. When it softens slightly, drain well and chop it (by hand or with a food processor).
  2. Prepare a béchamel sauce from butter, flour, and milk, using the technique here.
  3. Add the spinach to the pan with the sauce, add salt, and crush the garlic cloves.
  4. Add 2-3 tablespoons of sour cream and let it cook for 1 more minute.
  5. Serve with fried eggs or fried sausage.
