It's called Bouyourdi, it originates from Greece and is a hot appetizer. Although the Greeks serve it as an appetizer, when I was done eating it, I was full, because it's served with bread - lots of bread soaked in melted cheese 🤤
Ingredients
1 large ripe tomato
1/3 bell pepper
50 g yellow cheese (Moeciu, Gouda, Gruyere, Kasseri)
100 g feta cheese
oregano
chili flakes
1 tablespoon olive oil
Servings: 1
How to prepare baked cheese with vegetables (bouyourdi)
- Scald the tomato for 1 minute in hot water, peel it and cut it into cubes. Cut the bell pepper into thin slices. Slice the cheeses.
- In a small, heat-resistant bowl, place half of the tomato cubes. Sprinkle half of the bell pepper slices over them. Sprinkle with a pinch of oregano. Place half of the cheese on top. Put the remaining tomato over it. Cover with the rest of the cheese, then the remaining bell pepper.
- Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon oregano and chili flakes to your heart's content. 😊 Drizzle with oil.
- Cover the bowl with aluminum foil and bake at 200°C for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
