The simplest bouyourdi - you barely need a recipe. Just layer everything and bake. This is what I spoiled everyone with who visited me last week. They were so disappointed when they found out it wasn't posted on the site that I promised them they'd find it here today.
Ingredients
150 g feta cheese (sheep's or goat's milk; choose a crumbly, not too salty variety)
1 small tomato
1 small semi-hot Bulgarian pepper
2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
dried oregano
Servings: 2
How to prepare baked feta cheese with tomatoes
- In a shallow oven-proof dish, scatter the crumbled cheese (don't worry about making it too fine) to create a layer covering the bottom of the dish.
- Scatter the diced pepper (cleaned of seeds and stem beforehand).
- Score the tomato with an X, blanch for 15 seconds, then peel. Cut into rounds and quarter each round. Arrange the tomato pieces over the cheese, without completely covering it.
- Sprinkle with oregano and drizzle oil over the entire surface.
- Bake at 200°C for 15 minutes. Serve immediately with fresh bread.
