Braised Chicken with Wine

I don't know exactly how to define it... something between a stew and a soup. But I know for sure that you need toasted bread for the delicious sauce.
Ingredients
1 kg chicken meat (I used skinless thighs)
1 large onion
2-3 canned tomatoes
2 garlic cloves
3 sprigs dried thyme
1 bay leaf
100 ml dry or semi-dry white wine
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
2 tablespoons oil
salt, pepper
Servings: 4
How to prepare braised chicken with wine
- In hot oil, sauté the finely chopped onion with a little salt until soft.
- Add the wine, bay leaf and thyme and let it boil for 1 minute. Add the tomatoes mashed with a fork, the garlic and turmeric. Let it simmer for another minute.
- Add 2 cups of water, salt and pepper to taste, then add the meat. When it starts to boil, reduce the heat to low, just enough for a gentle simmer, and leave for 1 hour. No need to stir, but skim the foam after about 15 minutes of cooking. Taste for salt at the end.
Simmer everything for 1 hour on low heat
