How to prepare chocolate chip cookies
- Cream the butter well with all the sugar.
- Add the egg, then the vanilla and baking powder, and mix again.
- Add the flour and mix well, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a teaspoon, place small mounds on the tray, spaced apart from each other. They don't need to be perfect in shape as they will spread in the oven.
* about 16 cookies fit on a baking sheet at a time; bake the cookies in 3 batches or on 3 trays if your oven allows - don't try to crowd them on the tray - Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 20 minutes. The cookies will be a bit soft in the center and golden only on the edges. Even if you're tempted to leave them longer because they seem too soft, don't 😊. Remove the cookies to a wide plate in a single layer and let them cool - they will firm up.
