Recipe: Granola with Seeds and Honey

It's worth making granola at home - it can't compare to anything from the store. This version with seeds and almonds is one of my favorites; it goes very well with fresh fruit. The granola comes out only slightly sweet and you can just catch a hint of cinnamon.

Ingredients

200g rolled oats
100g almonds
100g pumpkin seeds
100g sunflower seeds
50ml oil
50g honey + 2 tablespoons honey
50g brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

How to prepare granola with seeds and honey

  1. In a bowl, mix the rolled oats with the seeds, almonds, and brown sugar.
  2. Mix the honey (50g) with the cinnamon and oil, and pour into the bowl. Mix everything very well.
  3. Spread the mixture in an oven-safe baking tray (with parchment paper on the bottom) in an even layer. Drizzle 2 more tablespoons of honey on top.
  4. Bake the granola at 160°C for 15-20 minutes, stirring only once after 10 minutes. At the end, the granola should be just lightly golden and you should smell the pleasant aroma of the seeds (especially the pumpkin seeds).
  5. Remove the tray from the oven and let it cool without stirring. As it cools, the granola will harden.
  6. When the granola is cool, break it into chunks and place them in a large jar with a lid. It keeps very well for several weeks.
