Granola with Seeds and Honey
It's worth making granola at home - it can't compare to anything from the store. This version with seeds and almonds is one of my favorites; it goes very well with fresh fruit. The granola comes out only slightly sweet and you can just catch a hint of cinnamon.
Ingredients
200g rolled oats
100g almonds
100g pumpkin seeds
100g sunflower seeds
50ml oil
50g honey + 2 tablespoons honey
50g brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
How to prepare granola with seeds and honey
- In a bowl, mix the rolled oats with the seeds, almonds, and brown sugar.
- Mix the honey (50g) with the cinnamon and oil, and pour into the bowl. Mix everything very well.
- Spread the mixture in an oven-safe baking tray (with parchment paper on the bottom) in an even layer. Drizzle 2 more tablespoons of honey on top.
- Bake the granola at 160°C for 15-20 minutes, stirring only once after 10 minutes. At the end, the granola should be just lightly golden and you should smell the pleasant aroma of the seeds (especially the pumpkin seeds).
- Remove the tray from the oven and let it cool without stirring. As it cools, the granola will harden.
- When the granola is cool, break it into chunks and place them in a large jar with a lid. It keeps very well for several weeks.
