Chocolate Granola
A little sweet, a little bitter, a little salty and crunchy. This granola has it all and manages to make me wake up easier.
Ingredients
200g rolled oats
100g almond flakes (or chopped walnuts)
50g coconut flakes
50g raw sugar
75ml neutral-flavored oil (sunflower, grapeseed, melted coconut butter, etc.)
25g cocoa
100g + 2 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
100g dark chocolate chips/flakes (55-75% cacao; you can use chocolate chopped with a knife)
sea salt, nutmeg
How to prepare chocolate granola
- In a bowl, mix the oat flakes, coconut, almonds, and sugar.
- In a smaller bowl, mix the oil with the cocoa and cinnamon. Then add the honey (100g). Pour this mixture over the flakes and stir until you get a uniform color.
- Put the mixture in a baking tray (lined with parchment paper) and level it. Drizzle with the remaining honey.
- Place the tray in the oven at 160°C. After 10 minutes, stir in the tray and then sprinkle the chocolate chips. Do not stir after adding the chocolate. Sprinkle with two pinches of sea salt (I used Maldon salt) and grate some nutmeg. Bake for another 10 minutes.
- Remove the tray from the oven and let cool completely without stirring. As it cools, the granola will harden. Check that the chocolate chips have set.
- Break the granola into large pieces and put it in a large jar with a lid. It's very good with milk.
