Jamie Oliver 😊 You can welcome cold carolers with this hot chocolate - it's quick to make and delicious because it becomes creamy when you add Marshmallows.
You need to use good quality chocolate powder, not the packet ones you find in the supermarket - you won't get anything impressive with those. I've included a photo of the chocolate I used; you can use plain bitter chocolate powder or flavored ones - mine is caramel. But I've also seen fruit-flavored or spicy ones from the same brand. If you can't find chocolate powder, you can substitute with a mix of cocoa and dark chocolate. As for the Marshmallows, make sure they're unflavored - buy the white ones.
Ingredients
2 teaspoons chocolate powder
(or 1 teaspoon cocoa + 50 g grated dark chocolate + a little sugar)
50 g unflavored Marshmallows
150 ml milk
Servings: 1
How to prepare jamie's hot chocolate
- Heat the milk.
- In a shaker or thermos, put the Marshmallows and pour the hot milk over them. Shake well until the marshmallows melt and the milk becomes foamy.
- Put the chocolate powder in a cup and add a little milk from the shaker over it. Mix until well dissolved.
- Slowly pour the rest of the milk over it; the foam will gather on top like cappuccino.
* you can use a milk frothing cup to aerate the chocolate more, or leave the cup in the microwave for about 30 seconds to create a delicate foam on top. - Serve hot, optionally with a dollop of whipped cream and a little grated chocolate.
