The well-known brownie with intense chocolate flavor becomes even more beautiful thanks to the marbled cream cheese pattern.
Ingredients
Brownie
300g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
200g butter at room temperature
3 eggs at room temperature
200g sugar
70g flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
Cream Cheese Mixture
250g cream cheese (Philadelphia)
30g sugar
seeds from 1/2 vanilla pod (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
1 heaping tablespoon flour
1 egg
How to prepare marbled brownies with cream cheese
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler (place a bowl with chocolate pieces over a pot of simmering water; stir occasionally until melted).
- Meanwhile, cream the butter until fluffy. Separately, beat the eggs with sugar until the mixture becomes white and fluffy.
- Cream cheese mixture: Mix all the cream cheese ingredients together well.
- Brownie: Incorporate the butter into the melted chocolate. Add the flour mixed with baking powder and salt, and mix well. Add the eggs with sugar and stir until the batter is smooth.
- Line a 26cm diameter springform pan with parchment paper. Pour the brownie batter into the pan and level it.
- With a spoon, dollop the cream cheese mixture all over the surface of the brownie batter, then drag a fork through both mixtures to create a marbled effect.
- Bake at 180C for 30 minutes.
- Turn off the oven, open the door, and let the brownie cool in the oven.
- Run a knife around the edge of the cake to release it from the sides, then remove the springform ring. Serve cold.
