Chili Sauce
Although you can find it in stores, as you already know, I prefer to make most ingredients at home, this way I avoid consuming food preservatives.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons oil
3 level tablespoons flour
1 packet chili powder (15g)
1 level teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
How to prepare chili sauce
- Heat the oil and add the flour. Stir well over low heat until the flour absorbs the oil and becomes paste-like.
- Add the remaining ingredients, mix well, then start adding 2 cups of hot water, little by little, at first like adding oil to mayonnaise. Whisk to prevent lumps. Once the mixture thins out, you can pour the water faster.
- After adding all the water, turn the heat to medium and simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly, becoming about the consistency of whipping cream. Let it cool and pour the sauce into a bottle. Store in the refrigerator.
