Recipe: Niku Miso, Meat with Miso

You might think this recipe is a bit "light"... But the ramen paste is so complex and delicious that you only need a little to transform ground chicken or turkey into a delicious dish, called Niku Miso in Japanese cuisine. We add a mound of Japanese rice alongside and a bowl of raw vegetable salad and we have a healthy, balanced meal. It's part of my plan for a slim figure.

Ingredients

400g ground chicken (or turkey)
100g ramen paste
black pepper

How to prepare niku miso, meat with miso

  1. Heat a large wok or wide pan well and grease with a little oil. If you only have a smaller pan, prepare the meat in two batches so it's not crowded in the pan.
  2. Add the ground meat and grind black pepper. With the heat on maximum, saute the meat, breaking it up with a spoon into the smallest pieces possible.
  3. As soon as the meat has changed color all over, turn the heat to low and add the ramen paste and saute together for another 2 minutes. It seems even better reheated.
  4. Serve the meat warm, with 100g Japanese rice and a portion of crunchy salad. Sprinkle with green onion if you have it. Everything will have just over 500 calories and over 35g protein.
