Recipe: Pasta with Peas and Bacon

The title is self-descriptive. It's a quick recipe for a family meal.

Ingredients

250g short pasta
200g fresh peas
100-150g smoked bacon (or other smoked meat)
1 onion
3 tablespoons sour cream
3 tablespoons grated parmesan
1 tablespoon oil
salt, pepper

How to prepare pasta with peas and bacon

  1. Boil the peas in plenty of salted water. After 15 minutes, add the pasta and continue boiling for another 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil and sauté the finely chopped onion just until it softens a bit. Add the bacon cut into cubes and fry until crispy.
  3. Mix 100ml of the pasta cooking water with the sour cream and pour over the bacon. Bring to a boil. At that moment, add the drained pasta and peas. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Remove the pan from heat and add the parmesan, stirring until melted.
  5. Serve with extra parmesan on top.
