A savory appetizer loaf with smoked salmon, cheese, dill, and a subtle hint of walnut. 🤤
Ingredients
6 eggs
360 g all-purpose flour
1 packet baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
200 g sour cream
12 tablespoons sunflower oil + 4 tablespoons walnut oil
200 g smoked salmon
150 g grated cheese (can be smoked)
1/2 bunch dill
1 heaping tablespoon grated Parmesan
1 cube butter + 2 tablespoons flour (for the pan)
Preparation time: 1 hour and 15 minutes
How to prepare smoked salmon savory loaf
- Beat the eggs well with a mixer until fluffy (about 2 minutes).
- Add the flour, salt, pepper, and baking powder (sifted together beforehand) and continue mixing for 30 seconds.
- Add the sour cream and oil and mix again for 1 minute.
- Add the salmon cut into cubes, grated cheese, and chopped dill, this time mixing with a spoon.
- Grease a loaf pan (12cm x 30cm) with butter and coat with flour. Pour the batter in and level it. Sprinkle Parmesan on top.
* I only made half the recipe and used a 12x30 cm pan, so the loaf in the photo isn't as tall as it would be from the full recipe; baking time for half the recipe was 35 minutes - Bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 1 hour. Do a toothpick test to make sure it's done.
- Let the loaf cool and remove from the pan.
