Salt-Baked Potatoes
Simple Recipes Potatoes Fasting Recipes Budget Recipes Side Dishes Vegetables Oven Recipes
Simple, perfectly salted, and filling the house with an amazing aroma - it felt like I was back at grandma's, who used to bake potatoes in the wood-fired oven. You have to try them; at this small size, they won't be gummy in the center like larger potatoes often are.
Ingredients
small potatoes (ping-pong ball sized)
coarse salt
How to prepare salt-baked potatoes
- Spread a thin layer of salt in a baking pan.
- Scrub the potatoes well with a rough sponge, then dry them with paper towels.
- Place the potatoes on the salt and cover them completely with another layer of salt.
- Bake at 250°C (480°F) for 45 minutes.
- Remove from the salt, brush off the salt crust from the top (it comes off easily), and serve immediately (plain or with butter). No need to add more salt - they absorb enough while baking.
