Bavarian Cheese Spread (Obatzda)

Obatzda, a cheese spread served with onion and pretzels alongside a cold beer.
Ingredients
125g Camembert cheese
40g butter at room temperature
1 tablespoon very finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon ground caraway
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons beer
How to prepare bavarian cheese spread (obatzda)
- Cream the cheese cut into pieces with the butter until the mixture becomes smooth.
- Add the paprika, salt, pepper, caraway and onion. Mix until homogeneous.
- Add the beer, one tablespoon at a time, and mix. The mixture will become fluffy. Taste for salt.
- Refrigerate for a few hours.
- Serve sprinkled with green onion, alongside pretzels and radishes... and of course a beer.
