Recipe: Cheese Spread with Sardines

This is a diet-friendly version of fish roe salad. It's at least as tasty and fluffy but prepares much faster. And it's full of Omega-3 😉

Ingredients

200 g fresh cottage cheese
1 heaping tablespoon sour cream (or yogurt)
1 can sardine fillets in oil (100 g)
1/2 onion
1/4 bunch parsley
1 tablespoon lemon juice
a little chili (or 1 tip of a teaspoon harissa)
salt, pepper

How to prepare cheese spread with sardines

  1. Put in the blender the cottage cheese, sour cream, drained sardines, lemon juice, chopped onion, and parsley. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and chili.
    * tip: instead of buying cottage cheese and sour cream separately, you can use a container of Fagaras cheese - it has exactly the right consistency for this recipe.
  2. Blend well until everything becomes a fluffy spread.
  3. Serve on bread.
